Movies Change People
For 3.5 years, I worked in a film distribution company as a in-house designer rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in film. During that time I worked for 5 companies under the umbrella of Heritage Films, worked on 90+ films, 4 rebrands and 4 site builds.
This job was incredibly varied, no day was ever the same. I have redesigned film posters, made pitches that went to Lionsgate and Stan, worked alongside studios like Sony, Madman, Paramount, and Transmission, helped design and create various new sites, created multiple brands, built new systems to support the team, managed projects from start to finish, created and managed customer journeys, managed data in our email marketing program, became a part of the management team as well as assisting with strategy and marketing plans.
In my role, I covered Design & Branding, Project Management, Journeys and Processes, Email & Data Management, Systems, and Website Development. Like most small businesses, I wore many hats. I would often refer to my role as “Professional Problem Solver” since “Graphic Designer” was a little misleading.
My time at Heritage Films taught me to ask the questions no one else was asking, even if that meant it fell to me to action them. I was able to grow past a design mindset in this role and learnt how to manage my time across a numerous amount of projects, think outside the box and focus on the end user with everything I did.
